In his artist’s book “paradies” Daniel Wrede continues his series of works with the same name, which he has been creating since 2016, while at the same time exploring and expanding it. His “paradies” works or objects show strong formal relationships to the medium of writing. In an exploration of the medium of the book, the artist reveals reflections on paradise and its original meaning of the word. The resulting book is a collection of materials, a sketchbook and a workbook at the same time. It provides insights into Daniel Wrede's world of thought and allows us to participate in the development of his work.

In addition to the book itself, the artist created an object that is both a book and a work of art - but without being both at the same time. What is a book by definition and what is an object, where does it begin, and where does it end?
In an edition limited to four copies each, Daniel Wrede combines the book itself with his “paradies” works to create an object. Four silicone objects each, either in black or in white, are found in the book case, which can be placed on the shelf as a book object or -
when unfolded - placed on the wall as a picture object.
